New York City Bike Durations

The duration of bike rides change significantly based on the time of day and the day of the week. Using data from the Citi Bikes service in New York City from 2024, this project seeks to understand the relationship between bike ride duration and the time of day and day of the week. I modeled the ride duration minutes, measured in minutes, as a linear function of time. Bike rides tended to be shorted later in the day, and had the longest duration on Fridays. On average, bike rides start at approximately 13.17 minutes, and additional hours reduce the duration by about 0.17 minutes. Fridays see the largest increase of 7.79 minutes.
